Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Dr. Radha:
Dr. Radha, your journey into psychology is truly inspiring. How did it all begin?
It all began during my Bachelor’s in Psychology. At the time, I was teaching children, and I realised something simple yet powerful — anyone can learn; some just need a different direction.
That realisation changed everything for me. I began to see that what many called a “difficulty” in children was often just a “difference.” Since then, I’ve been passionate about helping each mind find its own rhythm.
Honestly, I’m less of a clinician and more of a teacher — and that’s what gets me out of bed every morning.
You co-founded HealVibe Clinic. How is it different from a regular therapy centre?
HealVibe Clinic isn’t just a therapy centre — it’s a space where psychology, neuroscience, and natural healing come together.
We work with children who have neurological conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities, as well as adults recovering from stroke or living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Our approach is grounded in EBPP — Evidence-Based Psychological Practice, meaning every intervention we use is supported by research and proven outcomes.
At HealVibe, we blend therapy with cognitive retraining, mindfulness, and lifestyle guidance — ensuring that healing is complete, not fragmented.
What exactly is “evidence-based practice” in psychology?
In simple terms, it means doing what works — not what’s trendy.
Every intervention we use at HealVibe is grounded in research and proven through evidence. We rely on brain-based techniques that help our clients think clearly, feel stronger, and function better.
Science gives us the tools; compassion gives us direction.
As a Naturopath as well, how do you integrate natural medicine with psychology?
Nature and mind are deeply connected.
As a Naturopath, I study and teach how specific herbs and nutrients influence brain health and mood. Herbs like Brahmi and Giloy, and nutrients such as Zinc and Omega-3, are known to support memory, focus, and emotional balance.
I often tell my students — herbs don’t just heal the body; they calm the mind too. At HealVibe, we use this knowledge thoughtfully — always as a complement to therapy, never as a replacement.
You’re also a researcher. What kind of research does your institute focus on?
Our institute focuses on Experimental Psychology — studying how thoughts, emotions, and brain functions interact. We design and test psychological interventions, measuring their real-world impact to refine and improve our methods.
It’s where science meets empathy. Every question we ask leads back to one core purpose: Can this truly help someone live better?
You also train psychology students. What makes your training unique?
At HealVibe, our students don’t just observe therapy — they experience it. They work with real cases, conduct experiments, and develop emotional awareness. I often remind them: your patient is only as healthy as you are.
Every five years, I personally mentor two students for a full year. During this time, they learn how to manage a clinic, design and conduct research, lead workshops, and grow into balanced, compassionate professionals.
It’s not just academic training — it’s a journey of personal growth.
Tell us about your Neuroleadership Program — it sounds fascinating.
The Neuroleadership Program is designed for the leaders of tomorrow — especially those in Organisational and Industrial Psychology. It helps professionals strengthen their decision-making, emotional intelligence, and cognitive flexibility.
In simple terms, it teaches leaders to think more clearly and to respond rather than react.
It’s psychology applied to real-world success.
You and your team often work with schools and the Gujarat Police. What does that work involve?
We coach first responders to children — teachers, school counsellors, and police officers — on how to handle sensitive or distressing situations without adding further trauma.
The idea is simple: when a child is upset, confused, or possibly in danger, those first few minutes matter the most. We train professionals to ensure the child feels safe, heard, and given space to share their experience — not interrogated or misunderstood.
Our goal is clear: no child should feel re-traumatised in the process of being helped. It’s one of the most meaningful parts of our work, because early emotional safety can change the entire course of recovery.
Working with children and patients with neurological disorders can be emotionally intense. What keeps you going?
Empathy and patience.
Over the years, I’ve trained myself to see things as they are — without judgment, without bias. It’s persistence and faith that keep me going.
Every child, every patient teaches me something new. Their progress — no matter how small — keeps me grounded, humble, and hopeful.
What message would you like to give to young psychologists or aspiring healers?
Stay curious. Be kind. Learn to see things without filters.
Psychology isn’t about fixing people — it’s about understanding them.
If you can remain open and self-aware, you won’t just help others heal — you’ll grow in ways you never imagined.
